ExamGoat (this app) is an AQA Psychology revision tool. This page explains what personal data is collected when you sign in, how it's used, and your rights.
What we collect
- Account data — email address (and optionally name/avatar from Google if you sign in that way). Provided by you via sign-in.
- Revision activity — your typed answers, quiz scores, missed-question lists, lifetime stats, examiner reports generated for your mock papers, and your preferences (AS vs A-level).
- Anonymous usage analytics — daily visit count, no identifying information.
What we don't collect
- No tracking cookies beyond what's strictly required for sign-in sessions.
- No third-party advertising or analytics sharing.
- No payment data (no payments are taken at this stage).
Why we collect it
Solely to save your revision progress so it's available across your devices. Your answers and reports are not used to train AI models, not shared with anyone, and not used for marketing.
Where it's stored
- Authentication — handled by Clerk. They store your email and session tokens (EU/US data centres).
- Revision data — stored in a Supabase Postgres database (EU region where available).
- AI marking — when you submit work for marking, the question + your answer are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for the marking response. Anthropic does not retain inputs for training (per their commercial terms).
Under-18 users
This site is aimed at A-level students, who are typically 16-18. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before signing up. If we become aware that a child under 13 has signed up, we will delete the account.
Your rights (UK GDPR)
- Access — you can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Deletion — you can delete your account at any time via the profile menu (your data is removed from the database; auth records are deleted via Clerk).
- Correction — you can update your email/name in the profile menu.
- Portability — export your data (CSV/JSON) on request.
